A love letter to my upbringing in northern Michigan and the childlike wonder I still feel when I experience its natural beauty. From climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes to the peaceful waves of the big lakes to cooling pine forests and the rocky beaches of Marquette, there is nowhere else like it. Superior captures the freshness of the breeze rushing between the pines across the lake and mixing with campfire smoke. It’s summers of working doubles during tourist season and then riding bikes at midnight to jump in the lake. It’s returning as an adult to realize what you took for granted, and the privilege of holding such a deep reverence for the land that raised you.
Vibes: Pure Michigan, when the water feels warmer than the air, Two-Hearted IPA, the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Petoskey stones, weeping at the sight of the bay, and H.O.M.E.S.
Impressions
